President Ross called the meeting to order at 6:33 p.m.
The Pledge was led by Ed.
Andy gave an invocation.
Marty wasn't ready with a song, so Ross suggested "God Bless America".
Visiting Rotarians: Barbara Bickford.
Guests of Rotarians: N/a.
Correspondence: N/a
Announcements: Herman J. gave an update on Crab Feed. Extra crab at the end of the event (if any) will be sold for $10 per bag. A list was passed around for priority sign up. A work schedule list was also passed around for sign up.
Brendan asked the previous 5 past presidents to stick around after the meeting to brainstorm a President Elect Nominee to serve after Jeff.
Happy Bucks: Ross gave $5 for his first meeting on the Monte Rio School Board. Marty gave a buck to be so happy to sit next to Herman J. Hans gave $2 to be happy not sitting next to Herman J! Lori gave $2 for being happy to visit her son. Chuck gave $2 for finding an old safe buried under the Hideaway (alas it was only filled with dirt). Barbara chipped in $2 for enjoying our fun club!
Fines: Marty was fined $2 for not being ready with a song. Hans was fined $2 for being late. Chuck was also dinged $2 for being late and another $1 for not having a pin. Brendan, Knud, and Ed were each fined $10 for never having explained to Ross that fines are considered part of our "dues." Herman G was fined $2 for being late, $10 for his parent's anniversary, and another $2 for no badge. Ed had a $5 fine passed on from Ross, but that may have been (?) waived in exchange for a $6 fine to Ed for his very long beard! Mike Torr was fined $2 for being late and another $4 for talking with Barbara while Ross was speaking! Soledad paid a $5 for making an announcement on behalf of RCCS. Welcome to the club!
Raffle: Mike Roa drew the ticket, but only came close to winning the prize by drawing the Queen of Hearts.
Program: While Mike Roa started off, Brendan was fumbling with the projector rather than taking notes, so a lot was missed here! Mike spoke to us about science education. He took questions from the audience. He explained to us how the Science Olympiad works. Students participate in various science related competitive games. He then gave a slide show showing the students participating in the science competitions.
Thought for the Day: Chuck didn't have a thought ready, so Ross gave a topical quote from Martin Luther King Jr.'s "I Have A Dream" speech.
